Fools Play: See It

Have you seen Fools Play lately? No? Then you're missing out!

Off the heels of some great shows like Fools Play Slumber Party and Fools Play RPG, the Fools meet fall with a new ally: Jamie, the new Fools Play apprentice. He's such a pro, he has a head shot!
We've got lots of great stuff coming up. Take a look at some highlights:

  • September 19th - Fools Play Robot Repair Shop. A team of repairmen square off against broken robots in a futuristic city, and you get to decide what the robots do and how they're malfunctioning. Geoff Gibbs the Yellow Fool will be on hand for this one, folks.

  • September 26th - Fools Play Home Cookin'. The Landlord of an apartment building and the owner of the restaurant on the ground floor are locked into a decades-long feud with the apartment tenants and restaurant staff trapped in the middle, with hilarious results.

  • October 3-31st - Halloween shows, including a special "Octoberfist" performance of the Fools Play Rassling League on October 17th, and a huge costume party performance of Fools Play Trick Or Treat on October 31st, Halloween night! Taisha McFall the Jade Fool will be at each performance in October.

Come on down and see us, won't you?

A New Fool

The rumors are true. Starting Saturday August 22, the Fools will be preparing a new castmate for the stage. Who will it be? What color will the new Fool wear? Will it be a boy or a girl? Who's the mother?

There's only one way to find out! Get your ass down to Fools Play so you can catch a glimpse of this new Fool. Be there when he/she/it debuts. And take in tons of great comedy by the existing and established Fools, too.

No Fools Play on July 4th

Because of strict fire codes, we will not be performing "Fools Play Indoor Fireworks Extravaganza" on July 4th.

We encourage you to take the day off to celebrate the revolutionary war and barbeque.

Fools Play will return with our regularly scheduled weekly show on July 11. See you then!

Fools Play - the Ultimate Summer Movie Experience

It's the season of Big Summer Movies! The reviews are in: Up and Star Trek are tremendous crowd pleasers while others like Wolverine, Terminator Salvation, Night At The Museum 2 and Land of the Lost compete to see who can score lowest on the Tomatometer. Not to be outdone, the Fools provide their own indoor cinema experience every Saturday night at 8 at Mud Bay - and Fools Play only costs $5. And like a Summer movie, Fools Play is air conditioned. And you can buy snacks. Like, really good snacks from Mud Bay Coffee.

Most amazingly of all, our unique Summer cinema experience consists of live performers improvising before your eyes! We realize this controversial move may outrage cinema purists, but in the interest of innovation we present a screen-less, film-less, 20-minutes-of-commercials-before-the-trailers-lesss version of cinema comprised entirely of live improv comedy. The reviews are in, and those who attended Fools Play recently say they were more likley to attend again than to pay to see the Summer comedy Dance Flick! Wow, thanks guys...

To keep with the theme of big Summer movies, Fools Play recently performed our Disaster Movie and Mini Series Formats. Look for more of your favorite Fools Play Formats all Summer long.

April is A Month for Fools

1993 was when the Fools first performed live on stage in front of paying customers. Seems like just yesterday.

To celebrate, the Fools performed Fools Play Anniversary Special on April 4. This look back down memory lane garnered reappearances by the long-deceased (possibly fictitious) characters of Cow With A Mustache, Captain Subtlety, Helicopter Slim, and Frenetic Mushroom. Those in attendance also received a peek at one of our most demanding retired show formats, Fools Play Stop. That last one involves starting a scene over anytime an onlooker shouts "Stop". Look for it to come back soon as a theater game.

Yesterday saw the debut of a new Easter Format, Fools Play Egg Hunt. Those in attendance delighted at the sight of the Easter Bunny battling against Jesus, with appearances by the Tooth Fairy, Mrs. Claus, and The Green Man.

If you missed any of these fine shows this month, take heart: Fools Play performs every week, and our next show is the über-fun Fools Play Audience Party. It's a like an improv show mixed with a drinking game!

In less cheerful news, those of you keeping tabs will already know of the unfortunate resurrection of our least fortunate and most evil creation, the Improv Spawn.

The Fools are powerless to stop this hellish offspring, who eternally vows to destroy Fools Play. Last week, the Yellow Fool stumbled upon a grand idea, and the Fools finally discovered the Spawn's weakness: ANGRY BEEF!

BEEF managed to scare off the Spawn, but now is at large in the Olympia area. If you see this flying piece of meat, please keep your distant. He's as dangerous as he is enraged.

You have been warned.
