1993 was when the Fools first performed live on stage in front of paying customers. Seems like just yesterday.
To celebrate, the Fools performed Fools Play Anniversary Special on April 4. This look back down memory lane garnered reappearances by the long-deceased (possibly fictitious) characters of Cow With A Mustache, Captain Subtlety, Helicopter Slim, and Frenetic Mushroom. Those in attendance also received a peek at one of our most demanding retired show formats, Fools Play Stop. That last one involves starting a scene over anytime an onlooker shouts "Stop". Look for it to come back soon as a theater game.
Yesterday saw the debut of a new Easter Format, Fools Play Egg Hunt. Those in attendance delighted at the sight of the Easter Bunny battling against Jesus, with appearances by the Tooth Fairy, Mrs. Claus, and The Green Man.
If you missed any of these fine shows this month, take heart: Fools Play performs every week, and our next show is the über-fun Fools Play Audience Party. It's a like an improv show mixed with a drinking game!
In less cheerful news, those of you keeping tabs will already know of the unfortunate resurrection of our least fortunate and most evil creation, the Improv Spawn.
The Fools are powerless to stop this hellish offspring, who eternally vows to destroy Fools Play. Last week, the Yellow Fool stumbled upon a grand idea, and the Fools finally discovered the Spawn's weakness: ANGRY BEEF!
BEEF managed to scare off the Spawn, but now is at large in the Olympia area. If you see this flying piece of meat, please keep your distant. He's as dangerous as he is enraged.
You have been warned.
